New Tourism Campaign Offers More Than 100 Special Deals

As part of an initiative put together by VISIT DENVER, The Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Mayor’s office, a brand new tourism campaign is being rolled out. More than $2 million has been spent as part of this campaign to increase tourism to the Denver area and more than 100 businesses are participating and offering special deals.

Hotels, restaurants, attractions, sports teams and many other businesses are offering their services at the special price point of $52.80, or the “Mile High Price.” The campaign will be advertised on a variety of different mediums including print, radio, direct mail and internet.

“This type of value-driven campaign is extremely important in keeping Denver competitive and at the top of consumers’ consideration list for this summer’s tourism season,” said Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper.  “We really appreciate that so many local businesses decided to participate with such great offers.”

“For the past three years, we have conducted a tourism consumer marketing campaign in regional and fly-drive markets,” said Richard Scharf, president & CEO of VISIT DENVER.  “This year, we are supplementing that campaign with the new stimulus ads for $52.80 specials, and expanding it to include promotions in closer drive areas, such as Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Fort Collins and Cheyenne,” Scharf said. CineMeetings Brings Corporate Messages to the Silver Screen

For companies looking to make their mark, engage their audiences and create messages that will receive the attention they deserve, CineMeetings is hosting the Cinema Event Showcase. During this event, meeting planners and corporate managers will be able to learn more about the power of using digital broadcasting and film to get their messages across.The lineup of events includes information on how to hold your own CineEvents, including utilizing live satellite broadcasts as well as actual films. Best of Colorado Award Goes to Grand Junction VCB

Grand Junction VCB was this year’s winner of the “Best of Colorado” award from Colorado Meetings + Events magazine. Out of all of the hundreds of organizations and hotels, Grand Junction Visitor and Convention Bureau received the highest honor the 2009 Editor’s Pick for the Best Destination Marketing Organization. The honor was given to recognize all of their accomplishments throughout the past year, including their incredibly successful branding campaign that showcased Grand Junction as “Colorado’s Wine Country.” In addition, Grand Junction VCB was responsible for orchestrating numerous large scale events that used several venues, local businesses and hotels throughout the area.

“We are pleased to recognize the outstanding contributions of these organizations and individuals to the meetings and events industry, which plays an important role in Colorado’s vitality and economy,” stated Beth Buehler, editor of Colorado Meetings + Events magazine.
