Vail Valley’s Westin Riverfront has introduced the Ski and Spa Girlfriend Getaway, an excellent girlfriend getaway including cool slopes and warm spa action. With an amazing view of the breathtaking scenery, good food and great fun, Colorado is the place to be.
The special girlfriend getaway package will last from November 15th, 2008 to April 15th, 2009.
Included in the phenomenal package is the exhilarating sport of skiing and the soothing relaxation of first rate spa treatments.
The basic package for two, at the bargain price of $714, includes two nights stay, two 50 minute spa treatments, 1 day of skiing for two, 1 day of performance skiing for two, plus a free bottle of wine each night. Fall at the Westin Riverfront also has the High Country Ladies Weekend Package, available Oct. 1st through Dec. 15th 2008. At $361 a head for two nights, the guest receives two 50 minute spa treatments, complimentary valet parking, and two free cocktails each in the hotel’s bar. Neither of these packages includes tips, taxes or gratuities, so bring a little extra with you just in case.
The Vail Westin Riverfront is home to 210 residences, ranging from studio to three bedrooms, with amenities that include the first class restaurant Avondale and direct access to Beaver Creek Mountain, the first rate place to ski. Spa treatments are held at the 23,000 square feet Spa Anjali, host also to 14 treatment rooms, and yoga, spin and Pilate’s. This $500 million development is on the way to being the first Luxury resort with LEED certification.

The new vice president of the sales and marketing department of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, Colorado is Daren Cole, and he is filling in the recent vacancy that was left behind by Ken Stone. Ken Stone was recently promoted himself into a new position. Daren Cole is bringing to the job the extensive expertise that he acquired while working with the Vail Resorts.
His predecessor Ken Stone stated, “His experience and proactive business development really helps round out the new team.”
Cole initially worked with the Crested Butte Mountain Resort on a purely contractual basis while working for Synergy Sales Solution at the same time. He helped to bring a lot business and frugal ideas to Synergy Sales Solutions and Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Cole has recently taken on the full time Vice President of Sales and Marketing Position at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. He considers it to be one of the best places to work at within the travel industry. He is readily offering praise to the ownership and management team of Crested Butte Mountain Resort, for their work in making the resort the wonderful environment and luxurious retreat that he is looking forward to enjoying with his wife.
The management team and Cole will be taking the resort to new levels of customer service, support and beyond. It is thanks to Daren Cole’s extensive expertise; quick planning and charismatic personality that will make sure that Crested Butte Mountain Resort will become a resort with a well know name and reputation.

The largest conference venue in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is the newly remodeled Keystone Conference Center. The Denver Metro CVB is Launching an Online Carbon Calculator for Visitors and Event Planners
The Denver Metro Convention and Visitors Bureau (DMCVB) took the time to unveil today unique tool that is at the forefront of the industry and designed to help green conventions. This Carbon Calculator and Offset Program tool is going to be housed on the city’s website for conventions and visitors.
Convention guests, event planners and other interested visitors can go directly to the http://www.visitdenver.com website to find this tool, which sits at the forefront of the industry at present. The tool will allow these individuals to access information directly relating to how they can turn their events and meetings into greener or more eco-friendly affairs.
The website allows for individuals and groups to measure their individual carbon footprint using a unique online carbon calculator. The website also offers an option for these individuals to purchase carbon offsets so that they may support projects for reduction of greenhouse gasses.
The supported projects are both new to Colorado and completely verifiable. These projects are carried out within Denver, Colorado city limits, and deliver both social and environmental benefits to the city and its inhabitants.

Westin Riverfront Resort & Spa Opens Doors to Guests and Meetings this September
The Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa, the newest luxury resort located in Vail Valley, is officially opening its doors for business as of September 25, 2008. The Westin Riverfront is located along the banks of Eagle River and pressed against the base of Beaver Creek Mountain.
The Westin Riverfront Resort and Spa features 210 residences, featuring 4,000 square feet worth of meeting space capable of accommodating groups of as many as 200 guests at a time. This stunning meeting space offers breathtaking floor to ceiling windows with magical mountain views just beyond the glass. This incredible resort also features a banquet terrace spanning 2,000 square feet of beautifully landscaped space, and a boardroom with a kayak theme.
This $500 million condominium hotel development has numerous other features to speak of, including:
- The Westin Riverfront is well on its way to becoming the first luxury resort in all of Colorado to receive LEED certification for being green. Innovative eco-friendly programs exhibited here include the use of recycled tires to craft roof tiles, recycling stations on every floor for guests and preferred parking spaces dedicated to hybrid vehicles.
- All 210 gorgeous resort residences range in size, with the smallest serving as studio apartments and the largest spanning three whole bedrooms. All are designed to feature modern mountain décor, with full kitchens, five piece bathrooms and gorgeous fireplaces.
- Amenities included are Restaurant Avondale run by Thomas Salamunovich, an acclaimed chef, and Spa Anjali, 23,000 square feet worth of spa luxury with 14 unique treatment rooms, a full on fitness center and a fully functional salon.
